SANTIAGO

Founded in 1541 by the Spanish conqueror Pedro de Valdivia, it became a real town only at the end of the XVIII century. After the dark period of the dictatorship, huge effort are being made to cure old wounds so that nowadays the capital can offer a vision of a vivid town, rich in culture, characterized by skyscrapers built side by side with old colonial buildings, large parks and tree-lined avenues. Embedded in the snowy peaks of the Andes, Santiago offers one of the most impressive sceneries in the world.

ATACAMA DESERT

Atacama Desert, located in the north of Chile, is the most arid region in the world and, at the same time, one of the most impressive. Its extreme fascination is due to the dazzling scenery of saline extents with some pools where pinks flamingos quietly roam looking for food. Here the small town of San Pedro raises, a kind of urban oasis, which came to be renowned for the splendid views, the steaming geysers and the breathtaking sunsets that can be admired in the nearby Moon Valley

TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK

In the steppes of Chilean Patagonia, at 112 kilometres north of Puerto Natales, you can meet one of the most wonderful National Parks in the planet, with spectacular granite massifs, luxuriant forests, tumultuous creeks and blue water lakes. Its 181,000 hectares preserve crowds of rheas, condors, flamingos, guanacos and pumas. A real paradise for lovers of trekking and open-air life.

PATAGONIA

Universally known for its shocking landscapes and the vast possibility of excursions, Patagonia is a place of incredible beauty, of great archaeological and naturalistic interest. Since its discovery, due to its unfavourable living conditions, this place has been kept virtually intact, offering to the incredulous visitor wild soils, virgin forests, flourishing woods, spectacular fiords and glaciers. On the banks of the many natural lakes, many small towns still keep their folklore, their myths and their legends. Along the 1,200 kilometres of the Carretera Austral many National Parks can be found, protecting ancient durmast and larch woods and a varied and rich fauna. Thanks to its well known volcanic activity, you can admire here thermal springs, archipelagos with small uninhabited islands, fertile valleys crossed by rushing rivers and magnificent colonies of penguins.

EASTER ISLAND

Also known with its Polynesian name of Rapa Nui, this small dispersed island of the Pacific Ocean is something incredible. So pride of their origin, these islanders made adjustment to a modern style of life, but still jealously keep their traditions, as, for instance, their own language, the rapanui. The famous six hundred more than six-metre-tall stone statues scattered all around, called moai, the white sand beaches, the clear waters inviting to be explored in their submarine caverns and the climate, so mild during the whole year, promise to make you live an absolutely wonderful experience
